Room Attendant / Recamerera - Mill Valley Inn

Mill Valley Inn is looking for a part-time housekeeper. Mill Valley Inn is a 25 room hotel, located in Mill Valley. We offer a friendly and enthusiastic working environment and are looking for a good housekeeper to join our team. Candidates must be willing to work weekends and holidays. Mill Valley Inn is looking for a part-time chambermaid. Mill Valley Inn is a 25 room hotel, located in Mill Valley. We offer a friendly and enthusiastic work environment and we are looking for a good housekeeper to be part of our team. Candidates should be willing to work weekends and holidays. Essential:
1. Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.
2. Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
3. Ability to exert physical effort consistent with cleaning 10-13 rooms per shift.
4. Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
5. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.


Desirable:
1. One - two years prior experience in cleaning hotel guest rooms.
2. Prior guest relations training.
3. Knowledge of proper chemical handling.
4. High School graduate or equivalent vocational training


Essential Physical Abilities:
? Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as reaching, extending arms over head, bending and stooping.
? Ability to lift, bend, stoop, push or pull heavy loads. Requires lifting bundles of linen weighing up to 50 lbs.
? Ability to push or pull a vacuum and wheeled carts weighing up to 100 lbs.


Essential Job Functions:
? Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
? Clean assigned guest rooms by priority.
? Transport cart with cleaning supplies, amenities and linens to the assigned guest room and position securely.
? Empty trash containers and recycling bins.
? Remove all dirty terry and replace with clean pair to designated layout.
? Remove soil, dirt, soap build-up and hair from bathroom mirrors, vanity, sink, toilet, shower walls, bathtub, shower curtain and floor.
? Replace dirty bed linen and make up with clean linen.
? Clean fireplaces and replace logs.
? Replace laundry bags and slips.
? Clean closets and door tracks on check-out rooms, removing dust and debris. Ensure correct amount and placement of hangers, extra blanket / pillow and other amenities.
? Dust and polish all furniture, pictures, frames, mirrors, light bulbs and switches, TV and remote, as well as cable box.
? Realign furniture to floor plan.
? Open all drawers / doors in check-out rooms and remove items left by guest. Dust inside.
? Check under bed (s), chairs and sofa for debris and remove if present.
? Inspect condition of all furniture for tears, rips or stains; report any damages to maintenance.
? Remove dust, spots and smears from all doors, drapes, windows, ledges, frames, baseboards, AC unit, corners and
telephones.
? Inspect condition of amenities in desk, drawers and guest service directory, replace designate amounts in proper locations in room.
? Ensure presence of fire safety, rate cards and DND sign. Inspect condition and replace as needed.
? Vacuum throughout the room and spray room with deodorizer.
? Update status of rooms cleaned on assignment sheet.
? Return and restocking at the end of the shift as well as empty vacuum bag and wipe vacuum clean.
? Ensure security of any assigned guest room keys and turn over any lost and found items from guest rooms to your
supervisor.
? Clean and replenish the coffee maker set.
? Handle guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
? Report any damages or maintenance problems to your supervisor.
? Knowledgeable of hotel fire and emergency procedures.
? Adhere to Lost and Found policy including key control.
? Successful completion of the training process.
? Other essential room cleaning duties as operations change in the future.
? Work rotations in the housekeeping room, folding sheets, towels, pillow cases, etc.


Skills / Abilities:

Desirable:
1. To be able to communicate satisfactorily and efficiently in English with guests, co-workers and management.
2. One to two years of previous experience in cleaning guest rooms in a hotel.
3. Previous training in relations with guests.
4. Have completed and graduated from high school or equivalent vocational training.

Essential job functions:

? Clean the rooms of assigned guests according to priority.
? Push the cart with the cleaning products, courtesy products and towels / bedding to the assigned guest's room and place it securely in place.
? Empty the garbage and recycling bins.
? Take out all the dirty towels and replace them with clean ones and place them according to the established way
? Clean the earth, garbage, soap and hair accumulation from the bathroom mirrors, toilet, washbasin, toilet, shower walls, tub, shower curtain and floor.
? Replace dirty bedding and make the bed with clean bedding.
? Clean the chimneys and replace the wood.
? Replace the laundry bags and lists.
? Clean closets and door rails in rooms that leave the room, remove dust and debris. Ensure that there is an adequate number of hooks to hang clothes, and that they are in place, check that there is an extra blanket / pillow as well as other courtesy products.
? Shake and polish all furniture, pictures, frames, mirrors, lights and plugs, TV and remote control, as well as the cable television receiver.
? Realign the furniture according to the established plan of the room.
? Open all drawers / doors in rooms left by guests and take out anything left by the guest. Shake in.
? Check that there is no garbage under the bed (s), chairs and sofa and remove it if there is one.
? Inspect the condition of all furniture in terms of tears, scratches or stains; Report any damage to maintenance.
? Remove dust, stains and splashes from all doors, curtains, windows, shelves, frames, baseboards, air conditioning unit, corners and telephones.
? Inspect the condition of the courtesy items on the desk, drawers and guest service directory, replace the designated amounts in the correct places in the room.
? Ensure there are security cards in case of fire, rate cards and the Do Not Disturb (DND) sign. Inspect the condition they are in and replace them when necessary.
? Aspirate the entire room and spray the room with deodorant.
? Update the status of the cleaned rooms in the task sheet.
? Return and stock the cart at the end of the work shift and empty the vacuum bag and clean the vacuum cleaner.
? Ensure the security of any key assigned to the guest's room and deliver any lost and found items in the guest rooms to their supervisor.
? Clean and refill the items in the coffee machine.
? Respond to guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
? Report any damage or maintenance problem to your supervisor.
? Be aware of hotel procedures in regards to fires and emergencies.
? Comply with the policy of lost and found items including key control.
? Successfully complete the training process.
? Other essential duties regarding the cleaning of the rooms as they change the operations in the future.
? Work rotating shifts in the laundry, washing, drying and folding sheets, towels, covers, etc.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
