Corporate Director of IT

Position Overview The Corporate Director of IT is the lead individual for implementing and maintaining systems and maintaining system security at the Corporate Office, with oversight and direction of the IT resources at the Company-managed hotels. To ensure the success of systems, the person in this role must be highly organized and able to clearly communicate with a diverse audience. This position will play a lead role in identifying and bringing to fruition economically sound business opportunities that will provide value to our organization.  As such, it is important that this person be able to develop partnerships with all departments. Leadership in sourcing and the assignment of technical resources for the design, development, test, and implementation of information technology solutions and services is required. In addition, the ideal candidate will take a mentoring lead in establishing a creative, high technology support team that provides both innovative and practical business solutions. This individual will have the opportunity to leverage his or her skills, technical expertise, and business acumen while working within a family culture. He or she should have a passion for developing and scoping value-driven services that lead to successful guest and team member technology experiences and processes.   Reports to:       Chief Financial Officer Location:          Home Office - Mill Valley, CA Expect travel as needed   Essential Accountabilities: Communication. Reporting to the CFO, the Corporate Director of IT is involved in various leadership activities. This includes involvement in overall corporate strategy, policy formulation, workforce planning, as well as the operation of our properties. This role requires comfort directing the activities of other IT professionals and leaders while projecting confidence in business rollouts/communication with executives and managers. A professional with strong oral and written communication skills are required. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of hospitality technology platforms, including property management systems, POS, and in-room technology. The position also requires an in-depth knowledge of hospitality system security requirements, including but not limited to PCI, GDPR, and EMV. Collaboration. Work closely with senior-level executives to establish the strategy, vision, and direction for IT. This includes helping to clarify the business objectives, the role for IT, key IT initiatives, and potential business benefits, as well as supporting technology direction. Management and Operational Results. Have responsibility for systems development and implementation for all business units within the Company. Ensure that the organization has strong systems analysis and project management skills, with the candidate having experience organizing and executing projects. Project Management. Direct the design, planning, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the computing infrastructure components that support the Company's business applications. Ensure that a state-of-the-art technology infrastructure is in place to meet current and prospective business objectives. Ensure that technical solutions, long-term architecture, and investments in new technology are aligned with Company objectives. Monitor industry technology developments and provide appropriate updates to all constituencies; stay current with emerging technologies and integrate into the IT plan those that are determined to be beneficial for corporate objectives. Vendor and Cost Management. Establish, negotiate, and maintain strategic relationships with key IT suppliers, vendors, and consultants. Reevaluate these relationships frequently in order to maximize value to the Company. Manage the comprehensive corporate IT budget in consultation with Company management. Manage Systems Support.  Ensure that all systems have adequate front-line support commensurate with operations that run 24/7 x 365.  Monitor the performance of the support and ensure contracted service level requirements are being met. Training and Job Certification. This role is responsible for leaders and team members being knowledgeable and confident in the utilization of systems and technology. Culture. QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years' experience in a similar leadership role within a Hospitality/Operations environment. The successful candidatewill have had progressive management responsibility, with proven skills in developing technology visions and strategies and spearheading all IT projects. Qualifications include the following: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field or requisite experience. 5+ years managing a business technology team Demonstrated success in leveraging technology to meet business objectives, with a pattern of consistent delivery and continual process improvement Forward-thinking, with the ability to anticipate and communicate the potential impacts of emerging technologies Results-oriented leadership, with strong negotiation, responsiveness, collaboration, and consensus building experience Ability to manage change with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written; the ability to grasp and communicate the big picture while remaining conversant with details Excellent negotiation skills with internal customers and external service providers A current understanding of IT management disciplines and technical tools, and the ability to assess and keep up with new technology and apply it strategically to business Must have proven large-scale project management experience with the ability to influence the direction of key initiatives and work with the IT and business teams to structure and staff efforts Ability to communicate and ensure all stakeholders are appraised of initiatives, proactively anticipating questions from stakeholders and offering solutions or resolutions to challenges This position requires occasional travel, as mandated by business needs

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
