MASTERPIECE OF ARBOREAL ARCHITECTURE - THE TREEHOUSE Available for at least 1 Week, 1 or More Months - Willing to consider 3 - 4 month stay depending on right tenant and situation. (Terms below) INITIAL REACTION: Not for the faint of heart but beyond any doubt above all else and rewarding. Climb up the 100+ stairs to the top floor and you'll find yourself on the top tier of the redwood forest and within the harmony of nature. With a birds-eye view you will feel your earthbound encumbrances drift away with the creek below. Nestled deep in the trees, one feels encouraged to seek and explore nature. This can be accomplished above the forest from inside the comforts of the treehouse listening to the babbling creek and watching for deer in the yard or a simple walk along the enchanting canopied street below as it travels alongside the cascade creek to one of the many hiking trails. LOCATION: Walk a few blocks away from town and find the Cascade Falls and Tenderfoot and Monte Vista Hiking Trails. Or walk towards downtown within about 4 blocks you will find the Dipsea trail and Old Mill Park (home of the Mill Valley Arts Festival). Stroll just a few more blocks and you walk past the Throckmorton Theater and be in midst of the lovely Mill Valley Town Square which is surrounded by all of Mill Valley's most popular restaurants and clothing stores, coffee shops, gift shops, local grocery store, movie theater, library, etc. These treasured locations are just a short walk from the front door. THE SPACE: This stunningly unusual home boasts peaceful reflective living with solid redwood beams, finely crafted wood floors, rich wood-grained accents and lots of light. Dramatically high vaulted ceiling rooms and towering wall to wall glass bring both the sunlight and the redwoods directly into the living space allowing the guest to instantly become one with nature. Cradled among the trees, it includes an indoor sauna coupled with a beautifully tiled shower, a large private sun drenched deck with a hot tub for relaxing and listening to the soothing sounds of the Cascade Creek. Radiant heat and a focal point fireplace keeps the home as physically comfortable as it is emotionally warm. This home although rustic is a comforting haven from the modern day demands. The fully equipped kitchen offers the best of appliances including a viking stove, sub zero fridge, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and all the necessary cookware. Crafted with exceptional attention to detail, this architectural gem stands beneath a canopied redwood forest. Such a unique and captivating home is guaranteed to provide a truly magical and memorable stay. A great deal of care, innovation and effort went into making this one of the coolest and most iconic Mill Valley homes. There is nothing more timeless and pleasing than to be in a home built of all reclaimed materials. This unusual 4bed/2.5 bath home reflects the 1970's creative use of old growth redwood and walls of glass to bring the flow of the outside in, the interior is purposely decorated so that flow is seamless. The treehouse is an absolute work of art. Enjoy the tranquil living and private setting producing memorable nature views and dappled sunlight that filters through to all areas of the house as the sun moves from day to night. PLEASE NOTE: While stunning architecturally and cool beyond words, it's key to convey the fact that this house is not for everyone. The Treehouse being rustic and built of all reclaimed materials, has its quirks. It will feel like you are living in an actual piece of art. It is eccentric, quirky, and with multiple floors can be perceived as wonderfully dysfunctional. With that said, it is also that which makes it the most magical and memorable home you can possibly imagine! But it's not for everyone. It is peaceful and private and truly awe inspiring but if you are looking for pristine it is probably not the right choice for you. Also to get that birds eye view, it is necessary to walk up 68 stairs to reach the front door and another 40+ to reach the top floor. It's important to note, it is 100+ steps from the street level to the top level. The house located high among the redwoods is very private from the street or any neighbors. If you are modest, you should know there are no curtains in the home (which would only serve to block out the amazing view), the foliage is the only drape from the outside world. Architecturally-wise, some of the bedrooms are somewhat interconnected and lack privacy in certain respects. On the lower level is the master bedroom (queen size) and another bedroom (custom queen) which are completely private from each other. Above the master bedroom on the mezzanine level, is a sitting area that overlooks the master bedroom. On this level is also a full sized bedroom that overlooks the custom queen bedroom on the lower level, which compromises the privacy of each of those two rooms if the upstairs rooms are being occupied. Anyone sleeping above would purposefully need to want to look over the rail, but it is possible. Thus, if you are looking for absolute guaranteed privacy, you would want to utilize the master bedroom and custom bedroom on the lower level. THE STAY: This spectacular and out of the ordinary treehouse style home is perfect for an individual or couple looking for complete privacy, a corporate c-level executive looking for a place to clear the mind, a family (with older children) looking to live an adventure, or a weeklong stay with friends seeking to be immersed in nature without foregoing any of life's luxurious. The interior includes all new furniture and decor. It has a top of the line fully equipped kitchen. Large living room area with a fireplace, indoor sauna, multiple office options, and a sunny loft for an artist studio. The master bedroom has a private bathroom and deck, another private deck is outside the office and there is a large private mountainside backyard deck with a hot-tub, bbq and dining area. It also has a Funicular "Hillevator" to help bring up groceries and luggage. This spacious sanctuary in the redwood forest is a work of timeless art. Surrounded by cascade creek, hiking trails, wildflowers, deer, birds and fresh mountain air. This is the perfect place to retreat, rejuvenate, restore and replenish by returning to nature. One word describes the property, magical. Ok, two words - Absolutely Magical! Mill Valley has repeatedly been named among the nation's best small towns.
